About The Event

Hello Laguna Beach Families,

It's that time of year to open up our hearts and donate to families that need our support and generosity during this holiday season. As a club, we have partnered with Share Ourselves (SOS) in Costa Mesa to adopt two families in need ( 6 adults & 10 children total). Share Our Selves (SOS) helps so many of the 35,000 Orange County residents that are homeless and the 341,000 people who earn less than $20,000 a year. Check out their website for more detailed information at www.shareourselves.org

How Does it Work:

After reviewing the wish lists please pick an item to donate and send an email or text to Allison Wald allison.shirley@gmail.com 925-915-9048, Andrea Marushka andrea_sigars@yahoo.com 714-366-6453 and Kim McMurray kimberlymcmurray@hotmail.com 646-207-9488 to ensure that we don't have any duplicates. If you have any questions about sizes or information - Please reach out to us.

A Few Guidelines:

*We will be collecting the gift donations at the Montage Mom's Night Out Event, however, if that night does not work out we will be setting up another event to drop off gifts

*Please deliver the gifts wrapped.

*To ensure we respect the dignity of the parents who cannot provide for their families, please only label the gift with the recipient's name and not a from.

*Gently used items are encouraged please do not wrap those donations.

This family is being held together by a single mother raising her six children. Araceli was hit by a car two years ago and has not been able to return to work. She continues to be under medical treatment for her injuries but is hoping she will be able to return to work soon. Her husband left the family and only sends money on an inconsistent basis. This has really put a strain on the family and they had to move in with Araceli's sister, Sylvia. The oldest son, Hector, is attending college but may have to drop out so he can help the family. Your support at this difficult time would be greatly appreciated by this family.

You can see from the family's wish list that they are in great need of warm winter clothing and basic household necessities. The younger children are only asking for a small toy but something fun would go a long way to brighten their Christmas.

As you can imagine, providing nutritious food for the family is a top priority. The family shops at Northgate and Food 4 Less markets so generous gift cards from those markets would help meet their need. Your kindness will spread past Christmas and give hope to this family now when they need it most. Thank you.

This family faces a particularly challenging time during the winter months. Fabian works in construction and when it rains their finances suffer, pushing an already-tight budget to its limit. Alicia stays home with twins Aaron and Madelline because the cost of childcare exceeds what she is able to earn; she also assists her mother who is an amputee with transportation and other necessities though her mother does not reside with them. Gilbert is able to contribute to the household budget, but they face months when they are barely able to cover rent and food and there is nothing left over for extras, or for gifts at the holidays. Your donations can make such a difference to this struggling family! They will be incredibly grateful for anything you are able to provide from their wish lists. Ideas include gift cards to be put toward clothing, shoes, and groceries/ essentials, plus something personal for each of the kids … bikes for Hannah and Angel would make for an extra-special Christmas but if not feasible you could also consider scooters or skateboards. THANK YOU for thinking of others this holiday season! This family will always remember your kindness and generosity.
